Automated External Defibrillator

The latest European Resuscitation Council (ERC), basic life support guidelines support the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D). as part of basic life support. Following research, it has been demonstrated that there is an increase in survival rates from cardiac arrest following early use of the A.E.D.

Following minimal training, these devices are now being deployed both in the community and public settings in England. This compliments the resent launch of the U.K. Government paper on public health “Saving Lives – Our Healthier Nation”.
