First aid annual refresher - afternoon session

Duration: 3 hours

Cost: £50.00 (Excl. VAT)

Qualification: No formal certificate but attendees will receive a stamped card to prove attendance.

Who Should Attend?

First aiders who want to practise or update their skills at any time during the three period as a qualified first aider. This course is strongly recommended by the HSE, although is not mandatory.

Course Contents

This half day annual refresher helps ensure the effectiveness of a trained first aider by giving them the opportunity to practise or update their skills any at time during their three years as a qualifed first aider.

After three years, first aiders are required to renew their first aid at work (FAW) certification - and should do so within 28 days of the certificate expiring otherwise the full three day FAW work course must be taken again.

The course also provides new or updated procedures and reviews existing skills such as:

• caring for a collapsed casualty

• CPR

• recognising shock

• controlling bleeding
