Course Contents

This course covers the skills required by a first aider in a modern workplace. For the first aider, it provides the knowledge and confidence needed to cope with a real life emergency situation. For the employer, it ensures legal compliance with health and safety regulations.

Content includes role of the first aider; managing an emergency; preventing cross infection; recording incidents and actions, use of available equipment; situation assessment; and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It provides first aid treatment for casualties who are unconscious / having a seizure / choking / wounded and bleeding / in shock Covers: minor injuries such as small cuts / grazes and bruises / minor burns, scalds and small splinters injuries to bones / muscles and joints / spine / chest / eyes conditions such as sudden poisoning / burns and scalds / anaphylactic shock Helps first aiders recognise the onset of major illnesses and provides appropriate aid for: heart attacks / strokes epilepsy / asthma / diabetes Course dates are listed below. Start time is 9am - 4pm with a lunch break.

An optional packed lunch is available for £6 pp per day. (Please book lunch when booking course). Onsite group training available for up to 12 delegates.
