Noise
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, require that an assessment of noise is carried out if the sound level is likely to exceed 80dB(A).
When dealing with noise it should be remembered that the decibel scale is not linear, hence an increase of 3dB(A) results in a doubling of the Noise (sound pressure) level.
Continued exposure to noise above 80dB(A) could cause permanent hearing damage to workers.
Using ‘state of the art’ equipment we can provide an assessment that gives specific noise levels. This will enable you to make more accurate and cost effective judgements about the control measures necessary.
Our service will include the following:
- Advise you on your statutory and regulatory duties.
- Information and guidance on good practice.
- Estimate the personal daily noise exposure.
- Recommendations about:
- Noise reduction measures
- Hearing conservation programmes
- Hearing protection:
- Selection
- Instruction
- Information
- Training
- Referral paths to:
- Occupational health advisors and physicians
- Specialists in related fields
Due to the complex nature of this task, the assessment will require an equal amount of visit and reporting time. Both will be charged at the same rate.
Cost will be subject to negotiation due to the number of variables.
