Paediatric First Aid

Cost: £125 + VAT per person

Our Paediatric First Aid training is an accredited qualification 2-day course. The skills taught provide professionals supervising young children with the acumen and confidence to cope with emergency scenarios.

The course fulfils the requirements of EYFS, critical for schools, childminders, receptions and nurseries. The course enables first aiders to deal promptly and competently with health-related situations that may arise when supervising or caring for babies, infants and young children.

Once earned, the certificate is valid for three years and is ideal - or imperative, depending on your role* - for:

  • teachers;
  • au pairs;
  • childminders and nannies (including guardians on outdoor pursuits and trips);
  • nursery and reception staff;
  • playgroup leaders.

In fact, this course is useful for anyone offering childcare and are, as such, governed by the Childcare Act 2006 in offering:

"any form of care for a child, including education or any other supervised activity."

*Furthermore, following a consultation for the provision of Paediatric first aid in 2016, English government confirms that:

"all newly qualified staff with level 2 or level 3 childcare qualifications [are] to have full or emergency PFA training."
